What sets this town apart from its Shan brothers is its once-in-a-lifetime train ride journey, particularly the one starts from Mandalay. Combining it with “Little Bagan” just adds another enticing reason why you should see it. And would Hsipaw be more appealing to you if we say that it has a refreshingly cool climate as well? Also, rent a cheap bicycle and inexpensively get around the town to see locals in their paddy fields, waterfalls, freshwater pools and rock formations of the surrounding hills. Or trek to a nearby village, Namhsan, the tea capital of Myanmar. Or perhaps chill in the boat to the Dokhtawady River. Hsi Paw awaits.
